Advisor to the Ministry of Environment, Forests, Climate Change and Water Resources, Syeda Rizwana Hasan, said that sustainable investment is not just the goal of any one country – it must be a global commitment.
She said this while speaking as the chief guest at the ‘AmCham Dialogue on Fostering Sustainable Investment’ organized by the American Chamber of Commerce in Bangladesh (AmCham) at a hotel in Banani, Dhaka, on Sunday (July 20, 2025).
The advisor said that we need to focus on both sustainable transactions and sustainable investment. There must be fairness in sustainable development. If resource-dependent economies continue to suffer at a disproportionate rate, then no global sustainable framework will survive.
Present at the event were AmCham President Syed Ershad Ahmed, former AmCham President and economist Forrest E. Cookson, and AmCham Vice President and Chevron Bangladesh President Eric M. Walker.
