As part of the Sri Lanka MICE Expo 2025 familiarization tour, on Tuesday (24 September 2025) a group of international tour operators, investors, tourism professionals and media representatives was taken to explore the spice gardens in Mawanella.

In particular, they visited the Susantha Spice & Herbal Garden, where they toured the entire premises, saw various species of spices and medicinal plants, and received detailed information from the organizers about their uses and benefits. Guests interacted with guides, observed the cultivation and processing methods, and learned firsthand about the fragrance, properties and local applications of these plants.

The Susantha Spice & Herbal Garden is a well-known spice and herbal garden located on the Kandy–Colombo route at No. 27, Ganethenne, Hingula, Mawanella, Sri Lanka.

It has been operating for years, offering guided tours to visitors where they can learn about the cultivation, processing and health benefits of Sri Lanka’s famous spices and herbal plants.

The garden emphasizes transparency and fairness and claims to produce its products using locally sourced, natural ingredients.

Through this visit, the guests not only enjoyed a walk through lush greenery but also gained valuable insights into the uses, medicinal properties and cultural significance of Sri Lanka’s spices and herbs.
