EXPOPRO organizing Seminar to Discusses Bangladesh’s Gateway to the Global Halal Apparel Market

The demand for modest fashion and halal certified apparel is increasing globally, and Bangladesh holds immense potential in this sector. To capitalize on this opportunity, ExpoPro is organizing a strategic seminar—”Manufacturing Modest Fashion Wear: Bangladesh’s Gateway to the Global Halal Apparel Market”. The event was held on Saturday, March 15, 2025, at Club 89, Gulshan, and was followed by an Iftar to provide networking and collaboration opportunities.

The global modest fashion industry market is projected to exceed $375 billion by 2025. Meanwhile, as one of the world’s largest garment manufacturing countries, Bangladesh can establish a strong position in this sector. This seminar discusses how Bangladesh can emerge as a trusted supplier of halal certified modest fashion apparel—such as abayas, hijabs, tunics, and Islamic clothing.

The following important topics were discussed in the seminar—
(a) Trends and opportunities in the global modest fashion market
(b) Competitive advantages in Bangladesh’s halal garment production
(c) Importance of halal certification in modest fashion exports
(d) Sustainable and ethical production methods
(e) Investment, policy support and global market entry strategies

The seminar was attended by distinguished guests and business leaders. The chief guest of the event was Anis Wajdi bin Mohammad Yusuf, Counselor of the High Commission of Malaysia. Rozaimi Abdullah, First Secretary of the High Commission of Brunei Darussalam, was present as a special guest. In addition, the representative of the Algerian Embassy, Australia-Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ABCCI) President Syed Moazzem Hossain, Dhaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI) Director Enayetul Haque Patwary, and ‘Business in Bangladesh’ Editor and Diplomatic Correspondent Engineer Md. Sajibul-Al-Rajib were present.

The keynote address of the event was delivered by Md. Mamunur Rahman, Founder and CEO of ExpoPro. He said, “The modest fashion industry is developing rapidly worldwide, and Bangladesh is ideally positioned to become a global hub in this sector. The objective of this seminar is to foster effective discussions and collaboration to realize Bangladesh’s potential.”

An Iftar networking session was held at the end of the seminar, where participants made connections, explored investment opportunities, and discussed ways to expand into new markets. ExpoPro is working to create an effective platform for investors, policymakers and entrepreneurs by organizing more such seminars in the future.

The seminar also highlighted the 21st Malaysia International Halal Showcase (MIHAS 2025), which will be held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia from 17-20 September 2025. As the world’s largest halal exhibition, MIHAS 2025 will create a unique opportunity for global halal trade and investment. The event will provide an opportunity for Bangladeshi businessmen to showcase their presence in various sectors including halal fashion, food and beverages, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, Islamic finance and digital solutions.
