In a colourful and vibrant visit, EU Ambassador Michael Miller recently visited Manirampur, Jessore. There, he met with local women entrepreneurs who are running community stores through a social enterprise called ‘Sadaipati’.
The 105 Sadaipati stores established with the support of the European Union have already opened a new horizon for rural entrepreneurship development. In all these stores, women are not only owners, but also play the role of buyers and brand ambassadors.
The mainstay of the Sadaipati model is business management and training of small farmers. Through this initiative, women are not only making themselves financially self-reliant, but also creating a sustainable and inclusive business environment at the local level.
The women entrepreneurs of Manirampur warmly welcomed Ambassador Miller and told him the story of their journey. Ambassador Miller also expressed his gratitude to them.
