Erasmus + Open Day held at Daffodil to showcase opportunities for studying in Europe

Diplomatic Desk:

The first Erasmus+ Open Day of 2026 was held in Bangladesh to showcase opportunities for higher education, international academic exchange and research cooperation in Europe. The event, organized at Daffodil International University in July, was attended by the European Union (EU) delegation, University Grants Commission (UGC), Erasmus+ National Focal Point, Erasmus alumni, teachers and researchers and more than 650 students.

The various opportunities of the Erasmus+ program were highlighted before the participants. Among them, joint master’s degrees (Erasmus Mundus Joint Master’s), international student and teacher exchange (International Mobility), partnerships between universities and cooperation in education and research through Jean Monnet Actions were specially presented.

The success of the Erasmus+ program in Bangladesh was also highlighted at the event. Since 2021, 620 Bangladeshi students have obtained Erasmus Mundus scholarships. At the same time, 500 Bangladeshi students and university staff participated in educational exchange programs in different European countries under Erasmus+ International Mobility. In addition, 235 foreign students and academics came to Bangladesh to participate in international education and research programs.

The European Union has called on talented students, researchers and higher education institutions in Bangladesh to utilize the various opportunities of the Erasmus+ program. It was mentioned at the event that this will create opportunities for international quality education, research collaboration, skill development and joining global academic networks.
