Election Commission postpones Sherpur-3 constituency election due to death of Jamaat candidate

The election for Sherpur-3 (Shrivardi-Jhenaigati) constituency in the 13th National Parliament election has been postponed due to the death of Jamaat-e-Islami candidate Md. Nuruzzaman Badal (51).

Election Commission (EC) Senior Secretary Akhtar Ahmed informed the media about this on Wednesday (February 4, 2026) morning. He said that this decision has been taken in accordance with the Representation of the People Order.

According to the new decision, voting will be held in 299 out of the 300 constituencies in the country on February 12.
