Desk Report:

Sadiq Kayem, Vice President (VP) of Dhaka University Central Students Union (DUCSU) and International Affairs Secretary of the organization, has left Bangladesh Islami Chhatra Shibir.

A central leader of Chhatra Shibir confirmed the matter on Monday (July 13).

Sadiq Kayem said that according to the rules of the organization, the central committee is reconstituted twice a year. He has left the organization as his term of office ends in the 2026 six-month setup.

Earlier, Sadiq Kayem’s name was announced as the candidate of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami in the Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) elections about two months ago. The announcement was made at the Thana and Divisional Responsible Conference organized at the Institution of Diploma Engineers Bangladesh (IDEB) Council Hall in Kakrail, the capital, on May 1.

After this announcement, Chhatra Shibir informed that there is no opportunity to participate in the elections on behalf of any political party from any position in the organization.
