Voting was held uninterruptedly from 8 am to 4 pm.

The 38th election, held in the year of DUCSU’s centenary, was organized after six years.

For the first time, voting was organized in the academic building outside the residential halls. Registered students voted at 810 booths set up at eight designated centers across the campus.

Students cast their votes at Curzon Hall, TSC, Dhaka University Club, Senate Building, Udayan School and College, Department of Geology, Physical Education Center and University Laboratory School and College.

A total of 471 candidates contested for 28 DUCSU posts, while 1,035 candidates contested for 234 Hall Parliament posts. The number of voters was about 39,000.

The main competition is between the Nationalist Chhatra Dal, Islami Chhatra Shibir, the Democratic Students’ Union-backed alliance, the leftist alliance, and independent candidates.
