DMP coordination meeting held on overall security and traffic management on the occasion of the upcoming Ramadan

Dhaka Metropolitan Police coordination meeting was held on the occasion of the upcoming holy month of Ramadan on the overall security, law and order and traffic management of the Dhaka Metropolitan Area.

The coordination meeting held at the conference room of the DMP Headquarters on Monday (24 February 2025) morning was presided over by DMP Commissioner Sheikh Md. Sajjat ​​Ali, ndc.

The meeting discussed the security of banks, shopping malls, roads, adulterated food and price control in the Dhaka Metropolitan Area, as well as overall security, law and order and traffic management.

Addressing the business leaders, the DMP Commissioner said that the prices of commodities are increased on various pretexts on the occasion of the month of Ramadan. You should keep a vigilant eye on the fact that the prices of commodities do not increase. Arrangements should be made to deploy volunteers in front of and around each shopping mall. CCTV cameras should be installed in every market. He urged people to take police assistance, i.e. escort service, in case of carrying large amounts of cash or valuables.

Addressing the police officers present, he said that police patrols should be strengthened to prevent the misdeeds of robbery, partying, extortion, ignorant parties, and malam parties during the month of Ramadan.

He also said that one of the problems of Dhaka city is traffic congestion. Additional forces will be deployed along with police members of the DMP’s Traffic Division and Crime Division to resolve traffic congestion during Ramadan. He requested everyone to comply with traffic laws. The DMP Commissioner expressed hope that the month of Ramadan will end smoothly with everyone’s sincere cooperation.

Joint Police Commissioner (Operations) Mohammad Shahidullah, PPM presented the overall security plan through a power point presentation at the coordination meeting.

Representatives of various organizations and senior officials of DMP gave their opinions at the coordination meeting to ensure security during the upcoming holy month of Ramadan.

Masud Karim, Joint Police Commissioners, Deputy Police Commissioners, Special Branch, Rapid Action Battalion (RAB), DGFI, NSI, Fire Service and Civil Defense, Dhaka South City Corporation, Dhaka North City Corporation, City-SB, Police Headquarters, MRT Police, Titas Gas, Dhaka WASA, DPDC, Bangladesh Bank, FBCCI, Bangladesh Shop Owners Association, Dhaka Metropolitan Shop Owners Association, Islampur Cloth Traders Association, Bangladesh Dal and Chickpea Traders Association, Onion Traders Association, Karwan Bazar Raw Material Traders Association and Bangladesh Jewellery Association were present.
