Desk Report:
To ensure the security of the bridge building and to ensure the presence of the officers and employees of the Bridge Department and Bangladesh Bridge Authority, a digital attendance system has been installed at the entrance of the Bangladesh Bridge Authority’s head office bridge building. Office activities of all levels of the Bridge Department and Bangladesh Bridge Authority (BBA) have been launched on February 22, 2026 under the 100% digital attendance (Electronic Attendance) system. This modernization program has been taken to ensure timely attendance at the workplace as per the government’s instructions.
The digital attendance system is basically a ZKTeco G4 Pro multi-biometric identification terminal, which mainly verifies the user’s identity using Face, Fingerprint, RFID Card and Password. The user stands in front of the device and scans the face with the camera or places his finger on the fingerprint sensor, or uses a card/password. If the internal software of the device compares the input data with the stored database and finds a match, it shows Verification Successful and opens the door or records the attendance and this attendance report can be collected on a monthly basis.
Mr. Mohammad Abdur Rouf, Secretary of the Bridges Division and Executive Director of Bangladesh Bridges Authority, said that this program has been implemented to implement the instructions of the Honorable Prime Minister and to ensure timely attendance at the workplace and to provide government services on time. Through digital attendance, timely attendance and departure at the workplace is being ensured, which has brought a positive change in the overall work environment. Punctuality and transparency of officials and employees will serve as one of the conditions in the journey of Bangladesh’s transition.
Mr. Altaf Hossain Sheikh, Director (Administration) and Additional Secretary of Bangladesh Bridges Authority, said that the introduction of digital attendance not only ensures punctuality, but is also the basis for building a modern and smart administration. As a result, proper use of government resources is being ensured and project work is being accelerated. The employees of Bangladesh Bridges Authority have also welcomed this system. According to them, this system has made the evaluation of work more objective and meaningful.
In digital attendance, the attendance of officials and employees is being recorded through state-of-the-art biometric devices, as a result of which higher authorities are able to monitor the attendance situation through a central server at any time and by avoiding manual attendance books, an eco-friendly and modern office culture is being practiced.
