Information and Broadcasting Minister Zahir Uddin Swapan said that a culture of accountability must be established to ensure good governance in the country.
The minister said these things in his speech as the chief guest at a view-exchange meeting and iftar mahfil with government officials and employees working in the upazila administration at the Upazila Parishad Auditorium on Sunday (February 22, 2026) organized by the Gournadi Upazila Administration.
The Information and Broadcasting Minister said that the practice of independence must be ensured in the law and judiciary. There is no alternative to this to truly establish the rule of law in the country. Power must be decentralized in state governance instead of being centralized in one place. This will increase accountability and transparency and further strengthen the democratic structure.
The meeting, chaired by Gournadi Upazila Executive Officer Md. Ibrahim, was attended by officials and employees of various departments of the upazila administration, freedom fighters, and district and upazila BNP leaders.
