Corruption in land management must be institutionally stopped: State Minister for Land

State Minister for Land Mir Mohammad Helal Uddin has said that corruption in land management must be institutionally stopped and appropriate legal action must be taken against the corrupt. Everyone must work together to implement the zero tolerance policy against corruption announced by the Prime Minister.

The State Minister said these things as the chief guest at the closing and certificate distribution ceremony of the Higher Land Management Course organized for Additional District Commissioners (ADCs) and Upazila Nirbahi Officers (UNOs) at the Land Administration Training Center (LATC) Auditorium in Katabon in the capital on Thursday (April 02, 2026).

In his speech, the State Minister gave several important instructions to the field-level officials to ensure efficient, transparent and people-friendly land services. Pointing to the concerned, the State Minister said that all types of work must be settled quickly. There can be no delay in work. He also mentioned the need to make land services easier and emphasized on research on how to make land services easier, not just by doing routine work. For this purpose, he spoke about the need to establish a state-of-the-art academy in the Ministry of Land.

The State Minister for Land advised caution against external online operators. He urged to discourage those who provide online land services by taking laptops to outside photocopy shops. The State Minister instructed to complete these complex tasks through specifically trained persons with passwords and IDs.

The program was presided over by Director of Land Administration Training Center Mohammad Abul Khair, and Senior Secretary of the Ministry of Land ASM Saleh Ahmed and Director General of the Department of Land Records and Survey Dr. Md. Mahmud Hasan were present as special guests.

It is worth noting that a total of 38 Additional Deputy Commissioners and 36 Upazila Executive Officers participated in the 5-day 14th and 18th Higher Land Management Courses. At the end of the program, State Minister Kriti distributed crests and certificates among the trainees.
