Constitutional reform requires time and compromise: Asif Nazrul

Legal Advisor Asif Nazrul recently made an important comment on the constitutional reform of Bangladesh. He said that the formulation of a new constitution will take a lot of time and it is not an easy task. According to him, time, discussion and compromise are needed to create a new constitution.

He said these things at a discussion organized by the Citizen Initiative, Citizen Coalition and the Citizen Alliance for Constitutional Reform at the Mother Language Institute in the capital on Sunday (May 11, 2025). The meeting discussed 7 proposals of the Citizen Initiative, Citizen Coalition and the Citizen Alliance for Constitutional Reform.

These proposals have given importance to reforming the democratic structure of the state and Asif Nazrul also said that everyone’s opinions and suggestions are needed in the formulation of the new constitution. According to him, the support and political will of the people are very important for these changes.
