A day-long workshop was held with entrepreneurs from Citizen Service Centers, Digital Centers and E-Post Centers of 64 districts to effectively implement the ‘Citizen Service Bangladesh’ initiative. The workshop was organized on Thursday (November 13, 2025) at the Agargaon Dak Bhaban in the capital under the initiative of the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Department and with the support of the Aspire to Innovate (A2i) Program.
The workshop presented the objectives, goals and scope of the Citizen Service Platform, responsibilities of entrepreneurs, platform management, usage methods, live demonstrations of various government services including BMET and BRTA. In addition, hands-on training was provided on e-government skills, center branding, customer service, behavioral skills, digital security, cyber security and safe use of various digital tools.

ICT Department Secretary Sheesh Haider Chowdhury presided over the program. Director General of the Department of Posts SM Shahab Uddin, Director (Mails) of the Department of Posts Kabir Ahmed, Joint Secretary of the ICT Division (Digital Governance and Security Division) Md. Mujibur Rahman and Joint Project Director (Joint Secretary) of a2i Md. Rashidul Mannaf Kabir were present as special guests. The workshop was inaugurated by Project Director (Joint Secretary) of a2i Md. Abdur Rafiq. Abdullah Al Fahim, Head of Project Management of a2i, delivered the welcome speech.
Various sessions were conducted by Masudur Rahman, Chief Technology Advisor; Mohammad Shafiul Azam, Head of Communications; Ashok Biswas, Capacity Development Expert and Lead, Digital Center; Fahim Bin Momen, Consultant; Masud Rana, Consultant, A2i and Azhar Uddin Anik, Innovation and Commercialization Specialist.

ICT Secretary Sheesh Haider Chowdhury said, “Time, cost and complexity are still a big challenge to avail government services. In this context, entrepreneurs of digital centers and citizen service centers are working as frontline warriors to deliver services to the people.” He said that since Honorable Chief Advisor Dr. Muhammad Yunus inaugurated the ‘Citizen Service Platform’ on May 26, 465 services including national identity card, birth registration, passport, online GD, land services, trade license, ticketing, social security, BRTA, agriculture and healthcare have already been digitized. These services are being connected to the platform step by step.
Director General of Posts SM Shahab Uddin said, “Entrepreneurs are working sincerely as per the ‘Sebai Dharma’ policy of the Postal Department, which deserves praise.”
Joint Secretary of the ICT Department Md. Mujibur Rahman said, “These service centers have reduced the digital gap between villages and cities, government services are now much easier and free from harassment.”

Project Director of a2i, Md. Abdur Rafiq, said, “We are working with the aim of bringing the entire process from application to receiving services under one roof through the Citizen Service Center.”
Head of Project Management of a2i, Abdullah Al Fahim, also said that unified policies are being formulated to provide clear guidelines to entrepreneurs in the activities of these centers.
Entrepreneurs Sabbir Ahmed of Raydaulatpur Union Digital Center in Sirajganj and Khandaker Kona Akhter of Ashulia E-Post Center in Dhaka spoke on behalf of the entrepreneurs. They said that they will share the knowledge and skills gained in the workshop with other entrepreneurs in their respective districts.
