Chief of Army Staff General Waqar-uz-Zaman, SBP, OSP, SGP, PSC, paid a courtesy call on Chief Advisor to the Interim Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh, Professor Dr. Muhammad Yunus, at the State Guest House, Jamuna on Tuesday (March 19, 2025).
During the meeting, the Chief of Army Staff briefed the Chief Advisor about the overall security situation in the country and the ongoing activities of the army. Besides, they also discussed various steps taken by the army for the development and stability of the country. During the discussion, the Chief of Army Staff briefed the Chief Advisor about his recent visit to the Central African Republic. The Chief of Army Staff expressed his hope that this visit will play a helpful role in improving relations and increasing military cooperation between the two countries. In addition, the Chief of Army Staff informed the Honorable Chief Advisor about the evaluation and recommendations of the recently concluded High-Level Council on ensuring justice to various deprived army officers and the progress of the ongoing High-Level Council on JCOs and other ranks of army personnel dismissed for various reasons. Finally, he was also informed about the various steps taken by the Bangladesh Army for the treatment of students and people injured in the July-August mass uprising.
The Honorable Chief Advisor appreciated the role and contribution of the Army and provided necessary guidance to the Army in its future activities. He expressed the hope that the Army will continue to discharge its duties with professionalism and dedication to ensure the sovereignty and security of the country.
