The annual sports competition, cultural program and award distribution ceremony organized by Abdullah Model Public School in Gazipur was held in a festive atmosphere on Thursday.

Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) nominated candidate from Gazipur-01 parliamentary constituency Md. Mojibur Rahman was present as the chief guest at the function. Teachers, students, guardians and local dignitaries of the school were present at the time.

In his speech as the chief guest, Md. Mojibur Rahman said,

“I am your people. I was born in Kaliakoir, I grew up on this land and when I die, I will be buried on this land. From birth to the last day of my life, my position is with you. I am one of you.”

He also said that the people of this area are his family. “I think my home, my children, my relatives all live here. Therefore, the development of this area means the development of all of us.”

In connection with the upcoming 13th National Parliament elections, he appealed to the crowd for votes with the symbol of a sheaf of rice and said,

“The development that you have not received in the last 35 years, God willing, we will deliver that development to you within the next 5 years.”

At the end of the program, prizes were distributed among the winning students who participated in sports competitions and cultural programs.
