BIMSTEC Working Group on Customs Cooperation Holds Its 3rd Meeting

The 3rd Meeting of the BIMSTEC Working Group on Customs Cooperation was held virtually on 02 December 2025.

During the meeting, representatives of the member states discussed and updated the draft Agreement on Cooperation and Mutual Assistance in Customs Matters under the BIMSTEC Free Trade Area (FTA) framework. The deliberations focused on enhancing customs cooperation, facilitating trade, and strengthening mechanisms for mutual assistance among member countries.

The member states expressed their commitment to finalizing the draft agreement at the earliest opportunity. Once adopted, the agreement is expected to improve transparency and efficiency in regional trade processes and further reinforce economic cooperation within the BIMSTEC region.
