BIDA Employees’ Parliament Election 2025 Completed in Festive Atmosphere

The Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (BIDA) Employees’ Parliament Election 2025 was held in a festive atmosphere today, Monday (18 August 2025) at the BIDA office in Agargaon, the capital. Out of a total of 69 voters, 66 exercised their voting rights in the election.

During the election process, senior BIDA officials led by BIDA and BEZA Executive Chairman (State Minister rank) Mr. Chowdhury Ashiq Mahmud Bin Harun observed the election process. It is worth noting that BIDA Executive Member and Secretary Mr. Mokhlesur Rahman formally inaugurated the election process by casting demo votes. Voting was held from 2:30 pm to 5 pm and the entire process ended peacefully.

Mr. Muhammad Abul Kalam was elected as the President of the Bangladesh Investment Development Authority Employees’ Parliament Election 2025. Mr. Abdul Hakim Gazi and Mr. Joynal Abedin were elected as Vice Presidents, Md. Nasir Uddin as General Secretary, Md. Manik Mia as Organizing Secretary, Ms. Mehjabin Taskin and Farida Begum as Executive Members. In addition, Mr. Nur Alam as Finance Secretary, Miss Shaheen Akhter as Women’s Affairs Secretary, Faridul Islam as Joint Secretary, Mr. Monibur Rahman as Sports and Cultural Secretary, Mr. Abdul Matin as Office Secretary and Mr. Mostafizur Rahman as Publicity Secretary were elected unopposed.

The elected representatives will serve as the BIDA Employees’ Parliament for the next one year. In the election process, BIDA Director General Mr. Gazi A.K.M. Fazlul Haque served as the Chief Election Commissioner and BIDA Deputy Director Mr. Sujan Das Gupta and Assistant Director Md. Monirul Islam served as Election Commissioners.
