BGMEA Elections 2025–2027: Sammilito Parishad announces panel for Chittagong region

The Sammilito Parishad has announced the list of candidates for the Chittagong region in the biennial elections of the Bangladesh Garments Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) for the upcoming 2025–2027 term.

The panel was officially announced on Sunday (April 20) evening at a busy post-Eid reunion program at the Chittagong Club.

The newly announced panel has been led by S. M. Abu Tayyab, Managing Director of Independent Apparels Limited. He is accompanied by Rakibul Alam Chowdhury, a familiar face in the sector, who is the top executive of HKF Limited and Apparels Limited.

The panel also includes R.A.N. Industrial Limited Managing Director Anjanshekhar Das, Medina Fashions Limited Managing Director Md. Musa, Vision Apparels Managing Director Nafid Nabi, Pacific Jeans Limited Managing Director Syed Mohammad Tanvir, ARM Apparels Limited Managing Director Mostafa Sarwar Riyad, Top Star Fashion Limited Managing Director Md. Afsar Hossain and South East Industrial Limited Director Gazi Md. Shahidullah.

The speakers at the event discussed in detail the current challenges, prospects and future action plans of the Chittagong garment industry. They emphasized the importance of mutual communication among the owners, teamwork and overcoming the crisis collectively.

The panel members promised that they would work on the basis of transparency, unity and accountability and continue their collective efforts to ensure a sustainable future for the sector.

Former BGMEA President Kazi Moniruzzaman and Election Chief Coordinator and former President Faruk Hasan were present at the event. Sammilit Parishad panel leader Md. Abul Kalam also spoke. In addition, former BGMEA vice-president Ershad Ullah, SM Nurul Haque and many others participated. The program was moderated by former BGMEA vice-president Syed Md. Nazrul Islam.
