The government has appointed Benazir Ahmed Tito as the chairman of Bangladesh Small and Cottage Industries Corporation (BSCIC) for a period of one year.
This information was given in a notification issued by the Contracts and Foreign Employment Branch of the Ministry of Public Administration on Thursday (July 23, 2026).
The concerned quarters expect that Benazir Ahmed Tito’s leadership will play an important role in the modernization of the country’s small and cottage industries, creation of new entrepreneurs, further dynamization of the activities of BSCIC industrial cities and development of the rural economy.
Benazir Ahmed Tito has been involved in the political and organizational activities of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) for a long time. Currently, she is serving as the party’s central co-organizing secretary. She is known as a skilled and active organizer at the party level.
Apart from her political activities, Benazir Ahmed Tito is also well-known in the business and social arena of Tangail. While serving as the president of the Tangail Chamber of Commerce and Industry, she took various initiatives to create a business-friendly environment, create new entrepreneurs, and develop local industries.
