Desk Report:
The Bashundhara Welfare Society has inaugurated a new office with the aim of making service delivery easier, faster, and more effective for the residents of the Bashundhara residential area. The office was officially inaugurated on the evening of Thursday (October 1, 2026).
Officials stated that this new office would make the society’s organizational activities more dynamic and well-organized. It is also expected to facilitate prompt responses to residents’ issues, needs, and complaints, while ensuring the delivery of essential services.
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Iqbal, MP and President of the Bashundhara Welfare Society, said that the society is undertaking various initiatives to ensure amenities and facilities for the residents. As part of this effort, an ambulance service has already been launched, allowing residents to avail themselves of the service at a relatively low cost.
He noted that residents often face difficulties in procuring medicines during emergencies. Addressing this concern, a system has been introduced to deliver emergency medicines directly to residents’ homes; necessary medicines will be delivered promptly upon contact via the emergency number. He added that this service would become operational starting next week.
Captain (Retd.) Sheikh Ehsan Reza, the Society’s Secretary General, stated that the welfare of Bashundhara residents and the improvement of service quality are among the Bashundhara Welfare Society’s primary objectives. The new office will enable the society to conduct its activities more effectively.
He mentioned that the new office would facilitate quick action regarding residents’ complaints and service-related matters. The society remains committed to fostering a safe, orderly, and welfare-oriented residential environment. He also expressed a resolve to move forward by working together with everyone in a spirit of mutual cooperation.
Sheikh Ehsan Reza informed that, in addition to the ambulance service, the society has launched a 24-hour emergency medicine delivery service and utility services, including plumbing and electrician support, for the residents. A call center has also been launched to facilitate easy access to these services.
He further added that there are plans to bring all of the society’s services under a digital platform in the future, enabling residents to access necessary services online from the comfort of their homes.
The event was attended by the society’s Executive Vice President Kazi Didar Ahmed, Finance Secretary Imrul Hasan, and other organizational leaders.
The society announced that service delivery for the residents of Bashundhara Residential Area would be further expanded and streamlined through this new office. At the same time, priority will be placed on promptly addressing residents’ complaints, taking necessary actions, and finding effective solutions to issues.
