BARVIDA delegation held a meeting with BRTA Chairman

BRTA Chairman Mr. Md. Yasin held a discussion meeting with the BARVIDA delegation at the BRTA office on Thursday (20-02-2024) afternoon. The delegation, led by BARVIDA President Mr. Abdul Haque, was attended by the Secretary General of the organization Mr. Riaz Rahman, Vice President – ​​1 Mr. Saiful Islam (Samrat) and executive members.

In the meeting, the President said that the ‘additional registration fee’ system for reconditioned motor vehicles should be abolished, the registration fee of new and reconditioned vehicles should be eliminated, and arrangements should be made to avoid harassment in the use of BRTA approved garage numbers during the period before the registration of reconditioned motor vehicles.

In addition, Secretary General Mr. Riaz Rahman drew the attention of the BRTA Chairman and said that it is very important to resolve the existing complications related to the registration of imported reconditioned pick-ups and covered vans. In light of the method and practice that has been followed so far in registering imported reconditioned pickups and covered vans, he sought urgent instructions to continue the registration of the relevant motor vehicles engaged in the transport of goods and informed the Chairman that Barvida is interested in establishing a driving school and technical training center.

Executive Member and Chairman of the BRTA Affairs (Chittagong) Standing Committee Mr. Md. Zahir Iqbal said that the slow activities of the Chattogram BRTA office should be implemented quickly, and he called for the registration of vehicles older than 5 years in Chittagong BRTA to be stopped, and he called for taking immediate steps in this regard.

The BRTA Chairman positively accepted Barvida’s proposals and assured to take necessary measures.

BRTA Director (Engineering) Shitangshu Shekhar Biswas was present at the time.

BARVIDA Joint Secretary General Syed Jaglul Hossain, Organizing Secretary Mr. Jobayer Rahman, Executive Member and Chairman of BRTA (Dhaka) Standing Committee Mr. Humayun Kabir Bhuiyan, Chairman of BRTA (Chittagong) Standing Committee Mr. Md. Zahir Iqbal, Mr. K. M. Shafiullah (Roni) and General Member I. R. Speed ​​Proprietor Mr. S. M. Iqbal Shamim were present in the meeting.
