Bangladesh’s participation in the pharmaceutical exhibition ‘SEA CARE 2026’ in Malaysia

Diplomatic Desk:

Bangladesh is participating for the first time in the international pharmaceutical and healthcare exhibition ‘SEA CARE 2026’ organized at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Center, Malaysia. This participation has been ensured through the active initiative and management of the Bangladesh High Commission, Kuala Lumpur.

The exhibition, to be held from 20-22 May 2026, was inaugurated by the Deputy Minister of Health of Malaysia, Dato’ Haja Hanifa Hazar Taib. The High Commissioner of Bangladesh to Malaysia, Manjurul Karim Khan Chowdhury, was present at the time. It is worth noting that 105 organizations from 9 countries of the world, including 4 organizations from Bangladesh, are participating in the exhibition.

The High Commissioner welcomed the Deputy Minister at the booth of the Bangladesh High Commission and informed him about the progress of Bangladesh’s pharmaceutical industry and its international standard drug production capacity. The High Commissioner sought the cooperation of the Malaysian government in expanding the export market of Bangladesh’s pharmaceutical products in Malaysia. Arrangements have been made to display various products of Square Pharmaceuticals PLC, Incepta Pharmaceuticals Limited and Healthcare Pharmaceuticals Limited at the booth of the Bangladesh High Commission. In addition, Ereba Capsules Limited is presenting pharmaceutical products and related information at a separate booth.

The Deputy Minister of Health of Malaysia praised the progress of the pharmaceutical industry in Bangladesh and thanked the Bangladesh High Commission for participating in this exhibition. He expressed the hope that by participating in such international exhibitions, Bangladeshi pharmaceutical companies will be able to further strengthen their position in the Malaysian market.

Later, the High Commissioner visited the booth of Ereba Capsules Limited and exchanged views with the media personnel present. At this time, he said that there is no alternative to diversifying products to increase export earnings and expand new markets. To achieve this goal, the Bangladesh High Commission is regularly participating in various international trade and industrial exhibitions on its own initiative. He further expressed the hope that participation in this pharmaceutical exhibition will play an important role in increasing the international recognition of Bangladesh’s pharmaceutical industry and in accessing the market for the relevant companies. Thanking the participating institutions, he called for more active participation in the future.

On the first day of the fair, representatives of various Malaysian pharmaceutical companies, businessmen, investors and partners in the relevant sectors, Bangladeshi students studying in various universities in Malaysia, teachers and researchers, and Bangladeshis working in various international organizations visited the Bangladesh booths.

Bangladesh’s participation in this international platform is expected to play a very important role in increasing the recognition of international quality pharmaceutical products manufactured in Bangladesh in the entire ASEAN region including Malaysia and expanding new export markets.
