Bangladesh-US talks to strengthen international cooperation on Rohingya issue

Diplomatic Desk:

Bangladesh State Minister for Foreign Affairs Shama Obaid Islam held a key meeting with the US Assistant Secretary of State for Population, Refugees, and Migration (PRM) at the US Department of State.

In the meeting held in Washington DC, both sides reaffirmed their commitment to addressing the Rohingya crisis through humanitarian assistance and the safe, voluntary, and sustainable repatriation of Rohingyas to Myanmar.

The meeting also discussed the current situation of Rohingya refugees, the continued need for humanitarian assistance, and the importance of regional and international cooperation. Both sides emphasized the need to strengthen coordinated efforts to resolve the crisis.
