Bangladesh today officially signed the US-led ‘Artemis Accords’, becoming the 54th member state in the world. This is an important step towards a peaceful, transparent and international cooperation-based partnership in space exploration.
The historic signing took place on Tuesday (April 8) at the ‘Bangladesh Investment Summit 2025’ organized at the Intercontinental Hotel in Dhaka.

The agreement was signed on behalf of the Bangladesh government by Secretary of the Ministry of Defense Md. Ashraf Uddin and on behalf of the US by Charge d’Affaires in Dhaka Tracy Ann Jacobson.
With this agreement, Bangladesh has become more strongly involved in international cooperation in space research and development. Under the Artemis Accords, it is promised to build infrastructure for peaceful purposes in space, maintain transparency of information and ensure sustainable use of space resources.
