Chief Advisor Professor Dr. Muhammad Yunus inaugurated the Bangladesh Investment Summit 2025 at Hotel Intercontinental on Wednesday (April 9, 2025). In the opening session, the Chief Advisor praised Bangladesh’s creativity and economic potential. In a speech, he said, “Bangladesh is a country of ‘crazy ideas’ to change the world, and the country is moving forward in implementing those ideas.”
BIDA Executive Chairman Chowdhury Ashiq Mahmud Bin Harun presented an article on the country’s investment situation.




There was also diversity in international participation. Oscar Garcia of Spain, Rosie Winterton of the UK, and Nasim Manzur of Bangladesh praised Bangladesh’s investment potential in their speeches.
The entire event was moderated by Lutfe Siddiqui, the Chief Advisor’s Special Envoy for International Relations.




The four-day conference was organized by the Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (BIDA). The conference focused on discussions on economic reforms and long-term investment prospects, especially the changes after the July Revolution.


Four companies won the ‘Excellence in Investment Award’ for their significant contributions. Fabric Lagbe was awarded for its innovative initiatives. Walton was recognized for its leadership in environmentally friendly and sustainable investments. bKash was awarded for its special contribution in attracting international investment. Square Pharmaceuticals was honored as a pioneer of domestic investment.
In addition, the ‘Korean Expert Processing Zone’ was awarded a special honor for developing investment-friendly infrastructure. In addition, businessman Kihak Sang was given honorary citizenship for his unique role in expanding Korean investment in Bangladesh.
With the presence of investors, top businessmen and policymakers from around the world, the conference is being considered an important platform to discuss the country’s investment-friendly environment and future economic outlook.
