Bangladesh Consulate General in Dubai Hosts Reception Celebrating the 54th Anniversary of Independence and National Day

The Consulate General of Bangladesh, Dubai organized a reception to mark the 54th anniversary of Bangladesh’s Independence and National Day.

The event, held at a five-star hotel in Dubai on Tuesday (April 22) evening, was graced by the presence of Mr. Mohammad Al Bahri, Head of Protocol and Operations, Dubai Office, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the UAE, as the chief guest.

The event was attended by Mr. Tarek Ahmed, Ambassador of Bangladesh to the UAE, and Consuls General and diplomats from about 30 countries including the United States, India, Pakistan, Turkey, Sri Lanka, Malaysia, South Africa, Japan, Indonesia, Thailand, Peru, Grenada, high-ranking officials of the UAE government, businessmen, media personnel and prominent and leading figures of the Bangladeshi community.

The event began with the rendition of the national anthems of both countries conducted by Counsellor and Head of Embassy Md. Ashfaq Hossain.

Consul General of Dubai and Northern Emirates Md. Rasheduzzaman in his welcome speech greeted the invited guests and mentioned the friendly and cordial relations between the two countries. He specifically mentioned the various steps taken by the current government under the leadership of Honorable Chief Advisor Dr. Muhammad Yunus and the favorable investment environment existing in Bangladesh.

In this context, he called on all foreign entrepreneurs and investors, including those from the United Arab Emirates, to invest in Bangladesh.

At the end of the speech, a cake was cut on the occasion of the 54th anniversary of independence. In the last part of the program, a group dance was performed highlighting the great liberation war, the mass uprising of 24 and Bangladesh.
