Bangladesh Bank to set up Tk 9 billion fund for new entrepreneurs: Bangladesh Bank Governor

Bangladesh Bank is going to set up a special fund of Tk 800 to 900 crore to provide capital support to startup entrepreneurs. This money will be used directly to provide capital to startup companies.

Bangladesh Bank Governor Ahsan H. Mansur gave this information while participating in the discussion titled ‘Startup Connect’ of the Bangladesh Investment Summit-2025. The summit was held at Hotel Intercontinental in the capital on Monday (April 7, 2025).

The governor said, “This special fund will be managed through commercial banks and will be used only to support startup entrepreneurs. A formal directive (notification) in this regard will be issued very soon.”

He also said that Bangladesh Bank is taking a long-term plan for the development of the startup sector and this step is aimed at opening up financing avenues for entrepreneurs on easy terms.
