In view of the upcoming 13th National Parliament Election and Referendum-2026, Bangladesh Army Chief General Waqar-uz-Zaman, SBP, OSP, SGP, PSC, visited Mymensingh today.
During the visit, the Army Chief participated in a view-exchange meeting with senior military officers, various law enforcement agencies and civil administration officials at the conference room of Mymensingh City Corporation. The meeting discussed in detail inter-institutional coordination and overall security management to ensure the peaceful, impartial and fair conduct of the upcoming National Parliament Election.
During the view-exchange, the Army Chief laid special emphasis on ensuring professionalism, impartiality, discipline, patience and citizen-friendly behavior in the discharge of duties. During this time, he observed the activities of the army personnel deployed under the ‘In Aid to the Civil Power’ and provided necessary guidance.

Later, the Army Chief laid the foundation stone of the Olympic Village located in Trishal, Mymensingh. At the same time, he also participated in a board meeting of the Bangladesh Olympic Association.
During his visit to Mymensingh, General Officer Commanding, Army Training and Doctrine Command; Engineer in Chief of the Army; GOC, 19 Infantry Division and Area Commander, Ghatail Area; Director General, National Telecommunication Monitoring Center; Secretary, Ministry of Youth and Sports, along with senior military officers of the Army Headquarters and Ghatail Area were present. In addition, Divisional Commissioner of Mymensingh Division, senior officers of the civil administration and law enforcement agencies and representatives of various media were also present at the event.
