In the last 24 hours (August 24, 2024), a total of 2300 flood victims have been rescued by helicopters and boats and sent to various shelters as part of the rescue, medical care and relief operations of the Bangladesh Armed Forces. Besides, a total of 18394 packets of food items have been distributed among the flood victims.

Also, a total of 864 people have been provided medical assistance through 7 temporary medical teams consisting of specialist doctors. Arrangements have been made to reach 4482 packets of food items by air through army, air force, BGB and RAB helicopters to inaccessible areas.
A total of 19 patients were rescued by army helicopters to nearby hospitals, 5 patients were rescued by air force helicopters from flooded Parashuram Model School and a pregnant woman from Lalpur in Feni district was shifted to Kurmitola General Hospital. Apart from the 11 camps established by the Armed Forces, 5 Army, 7 Air Force, 2 RAB and 1 BGB helicopter units are deployed in the flood-affected areas.

It is to be noted that 2 engineer construction brigades of the army have initially started work from Dhaka and Chittagong to make the Dhaka-Chittagong highway suitable for traffic.

Also, with the help of the army, the civil mobile companies are continuing the repair work of the towers in order to activate the mobile connection in the flood affected areas. 260 tourists stranded at Sajek tourist center in Khagrachari district by the army have been evacuated to a safe place in 73 vehicles.
