Alliance Française de Dhaka, in collaboration with Bangladesh Hawaiian Guitar Shilpi Parishad (BHGSP), successfully organized “An Evening of Hawaiian Guitar”, a heart-warming musical event.

The event was held on Saturday, August 16, 2025, at 5:00 PM, at the Auditorium Nouvelle Vague of Alliance Française de Dhaka, Dhanmondi. The enchanting evening was filled with performances by 14 accomplished artists who enthralled the audience. They presented the signature slide melodies and melodious melodies of the Hawaiian guitar.

The pieces performed included classical, folk and contemporary genres, which on the one hand highlighted the versatility of the Hawaiian guitar and on the other hand its deep cultural appeal. The Chief News Editor of Masranga Television, Mr. Rashed Ahmed, was present as the chief guest.

The program was presided over by Guitar Guru Md. Hasanur Rahman Bachchu, President of Bangladesh Hawaiian Guitar Shilpi Parishad.

Bangladesh Hawaiian Guitar Shilpi Parishad (BHGSP): Established in 1992, the Bangladesh Hawaiian Guitar Shilpi Parishad aimed to increase and spread the popularity of Hawaiian guitar music in different parts of the country. The foundation of the organization was laid at the Bulbul Academy of Fine Arts (BAFA), where the National Hawaiian Guitar Festival Council organized a notable three-day festival in 1990.

Renowned guitarists of the country, Panna Ahmed, Enamul Kabir, Akram Hossain, Syed Lutful Haque, Hasanur Rahman Bachchu and Mofazzal Hossain Chowdhury Bidhu, among others, participated in this festival. Since its inception, BHGSP has been working to increase the popularity of the Hawaiian guitar, build camaraderie among musicians, and inspire and mentor new talent. Through concerts, workshops, and joint events, the organization aims to build cultural awareness, encourage creative expression, and strengthen relationships within the artistic community of Bangladesh.
