Senior Secretary of the Ministry of Education Siddique Zubair has been withdrawn. Advisor Mahfuz Alam confirmed this on Tuesday (July 22).
Students have been protesting since noon demanding the resignation of the interim government’s Education Advisor Chowdhury Rafiqul Abrar (CR Abrar) and Senior Secretary of the Ministry of Education Siddique Zubair.
Students from several colleges in the capital, including Dhaka College, City College, Ideal College, and Science Lab, staged the protest. Later, they marched towards the Education Building. At that time, they tried to enter the Education Building. Later, they came and sat in front of the Secretariat from there. At around 3:45 pm, the agitating students broke through the Secretariat gate and entered. They were then lathicharged.
