Sri Lanka Convention Bureau Strengthens Indian MICE Outreach with Exclusive Networking Event in Bangalore

The Sri Lanka Convention Bureau (SLCB) successfully hosted a MICE Roadshow and Press Conference in Bangalore, India, on Thursday, July 3, 2025. This event marked a significant milestone in Sri Lanka’s ongoing strategy to position itself as a premier destination for Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions (MICE) tourism among Indian travelers.

The primary objective of the initiative was to further solidify the longstanding bilateral relations between Sri Lanka and India while fostering mutually beneficial partnerships in the tourism and MICE sectors. By choosing Bangalore—one of India’s fastest-growing Tier-I cities and a key corporate hub—the SLCB aimed to reinforce Sri Lanka’s brand visibility and attract high-value markets from southern India.

The event showcased Sri Lanka’s diverse tourism offerings, unique cultural and natural attractions, and recent advancements in MICE infrastructure. It emphasized the country’s readiness to host world-class business events and promote itself as a year-round destination suitable for both leisure and professional engagements.

This Bangalore event followed the successful roadshow held in Hyderabad on July 1, 2025. Altogether, over 100 key stakeholders from the Indian travel and tourism industry participated across both cities. A 20-member strong Sri Lankan delegation from the travel and hospitality sectors actively engaged in B2B networking and promotional activities to highlight Sri Lanka’s potential as a leading MICE destination.

By strategically targeting Hyderabad and Bangalore—both cities known for their robust business environments and strong corporate presence—SLCB demonstrated its commitment to deepening engagement in key Indian markets. These efforts are part of a broader promotional strategy to attract high-spending Indian travelers and firmly establish Sri Lanka as a top-tier choice for MICE tourism in the region.
