The Center for Governance Studies (CGS), a research organization dedicated to democracy, good governance and human rights, has got a new leadership. Television presenter and prominent political analyst Zillur Rahman has taken over as the president of the organization. At the same time, economist and researcher Parvez Karim Abbasi has been nominated as the new executive director.
This decision was finalized at the CGS board of directors meeting held on July 5, where the new leadership was unanimously elected. Later, the CGS officially announced the matter through a press release on July 7 (Monday).
It is worth noting that Zillur Rahman is a familiar face in the country’s media world, who has been playing an important role in political analysis through television programs for a long time. On the other hand, Parvez Karim Abbasi is a well-known name in research related to economics and policymaking.
