Nepal Ambassador Calls on Bangladesh Foreign Secretary, Emphasizes Deeper Bilateral and Regional Cooperation

Nepal Ambassador to Bangladesh Ghanashyam Bhandari called on the newly appointed Foreign Secretary of the Government of Bangladesh Mr. Asad Alam Siam at the latter’s office on Monday (30 June, 2025) afternoon. The Ambassador congratulated the Foreign Secretary on the assumption of his responsibilities.

Both sides expressed satisfaction on the excellent state of bilateral relations between Nepal and Bangladesh and discussed various issues of mutual interest.

The discussion focused on the progress made thus far in energy cooperation and potential collaboration in additional hydropower projects. The Ambassador emphasized the importance of increased economic engagement, highlighting the major strides made in areas of trade, tourism, connectivity, education, and people-to-people connections.

Likewise, they also underscored the need for close collaboration within regional and multilateral forums, including SAARC, BIMSTEC and the United Nations.
