Government issues circular declaring August 8 as ‘New Bangladesh Day’

The government has declared August 8 every year as ‘New Bangladesh Day’ and has decided to include this date as a ‘B’ category day in the Cabinet Division’s circular dated October 21, 2014 regarding the observance of national and international days in order to observe it as ‘New Bangladesh Day’.

This decision of the government was announced in a circular signed by Tania Afroz, Deputy Secretary of the General Administration Branch of the Cabinet Division, on Wednesday (June 25, 2025).

In this circular of the Cabinet Division, all the concerned ministries/departments/organizations are requested to comply with the said decision properly.
