A 5-day training workshop organized in Lama, Bandarban for the sustainable development of the tourism sector and quality services has been successfully completed. The workshop was held at the initiative of the Bangladesh Tourism Board and in collaboration with the Upazila Administration, Tour Operators Association of Bangladesh (TOAB) and Tourism Owners Association.




The training program began at 10 am on Sunday, April 20, 2025, at Lama Upazila Parishad Hall. The workshop was conducted in two batches. In the first batch, 72 resort owners participated for three days from April 20 to 22, where training was provided on various aspects of sustainable hospitality and tourism industry development. Then, in the second batch, 36 resort employees received training on improving the quality of tourist services on April 23 and 24.
The opening ceremony of the training was attended by the Director (Marketing, Planning and Public Relations) and Joint Secretary Saleha Binte Siraj of Bangladesh Tourism Board as the chief guest. The program was presided over by Lama Upazila Nirbahi Officer Md. Moin Uddin.




Also present at the program were Deputy Director of Tourism Board Mazharul Islam, President of TOAB Rafiuzzaman, Director (Training and Research) Md. Moniruzzaman Masud, Director (Public Relations) Md. Yunus, International Director Mansur Alam Parvez, Director Nasir Uddin Badal and Advisor Hafizur Rahman Faruk.
The training workshop was attended by Dr. Anwar, Mesbahul Alam, Syed Sajjad Hossain Mahmud, Saifullah Rabbi and Humayun Kabir, who enhanced the knowledge and skills of the participants on the quality improvement and practical aspects of tourism services.
The organizers hope that this training workshop will play an important role in enhancing the capacity of local tourism entrepreneurs and workers.
