U.S. Imposes 37% Tariff on Bangladeshi Imports Under New ‘Reciprocal Tariff’ Policy

The Trump administration has announced a 37% tariff on imports from Bangladesh as part of its new ‘Reciprocal Tariff’ policy. This information was revealed in a chart published by the White House on Thursday, April 3.

According to the White House, the U.S. believes that Bangladesh effectively imposes a 74% tariff on American goods. In response, a ‘discounted reciprocal tariff’ of 37% has been imposed on Bangladeshi products.

Initially, a 10% tariff will take effect on April 5, with further increases scheduled from April 9 onward. This tariff policy is being implemented as part of the Trump administration’s ‘Liberation Day’ initiative, which aims to counter countries that impose high tariffs on American products.
