Religious Advisor Professor Dr. A. F. M. Khalid Hossain said that Islamic literature serves as a guide in changing society.
He said this while speaking as the chief guest at the unveiling and iftar mahfil organized by Saliha Publications at the Tofazzal Hossain Manik Mia Hall of the National Press Club on Saturday (March 15, 2025) afternoon.
Laying emphasis on conducting daily life in the light of the Quran and Hadith, the Religious Advisor said that through this, we have to illuminate our family life and social life.
At present, Ulama Keram, especially Qawmi Ulama Keram, are making outstanding contributions to translated literature. They are translating fluently and neatly, which is enriching Bengali literature. Noting that Ulama Keram are awarded in Urdu literature in India, he said that awards will be arranged for Bengali translated literature in the future. He also informed about the initiative to award the best Seerat writer from the Islamic Foundation.
There are 64,000 imams in Bangladesh who have received training from the Imam Academy. Expressing his hope to bring an imam and muezzin from there to Dhaka and award them, he said, “We also want to honor those who have written or translated basic books on the Seerat of the Prophet (PBUH) with awards.”
If Saliha Publications comes forward to publish religious books, there will be a qualitative change in Bengali translation literature. Religious Advisor Dr. A.F.M. Khalid Hossain mentioned that an initiative is being taken to translate important books of Islam with the help of scholars who are proficient in different languages and have creativity.

Later, the advisor unveiled the Bengali translation (fourth volume) of the famous Tafsir book Safwatut Tafsir and his own work, Dr. A. F. M. Khalid, the complete works.
