Emphasis has been placed on further strengthening parliamentary relations between Bangladesh and China, increasing economic cooperation and strengthening diplomatic contacts by prioritizing national interests.
These issues were emphasized in a fruitful meeting of the Bangladesh-China Parliamentary Friendship Group with Chinese Ambassador to Bangladesh Yao Wen on Monday (August 10).

Various aspects of Bangladesh-China bilateral relations were discussed in the meeting. In particular, views were exchanged on increasing communication and cooperation at the parliamentary level of the two countries, expanding economic activities related to mutual interests and making diplomatic relations more effective and solid.

Barrister Zaharat Adib Chowdhury, MP, Chairman of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, was present in the meeting as a member of the Bangladesh-China Parliamentary Friendship Group.
The meeting emphasized the need to further expand areas of cooperation in the future, keeping in mind the mutual welfare and national interests of the people of the two countries.
