Foreign employment is one of the driving forces of the country’s economy: State Minister for Foreign Affairs

Diplomatic Desk:

A high-level delegation led by newly appointed Managing Director of Bangladesh Overseas Employment and Services Limited (BOESL) Mohammad Rashedul Haque held an important meeting with State Minister for Foreign Affairs Shama Obaed Islam, MP.

The meeting discussed in detail the role, prospects and future challenges of BOESL in implementing the target of sending 10 million workers abroad announced in the government’s election manifesto. During this time, various issues such as sending skilled manpower abroad, exploring new labor markets, expanding overseas employment opportunities and further dynamizing the government-to-government (G-to-G) program gained importance.

State Minister Shama Obaed Islam said that overseas employment is one of the driving forces of the country’s economy. By sending skilled, trained and qualified workers abroad, it is possible to increase the country’s remittance flow and further strengthen Bangladesh’s position in the international labor market.

Newly appointed Managing Director of BOESEL, Mohammad Rashedul Haque, said that the company is working to adopt new strategies to further enrich the country’s manpower export sector, identify potential labor markets and increase employment opportunities abroad. At the same time, BOESEL is also committed to ensuring transparent, safe and cost-effective immigration.

BOESEL’s General Manager (Overseas Recruitment) Noor Ahmed and Deputy General Manager Nazmun Nahar (Senior Assistant Secretary) were present at the meeting.

The participants in the meeting emphasized on taking coordinated initiatives to increase overseas employment, expand recruitment through G-2-G method and increase the demand for skilled manpower of Bangladesh in the international labor market.

It is worth noting that BOESEL has been playing an important role in sending workers abroad under government management, creating foreign job opportunities and ensuring safe immigration for a long time. Through this, Bangladeshi workers interested in employment abroad are getting job opportunities at low cost and in a transparent process.
