A letter changed one of the most memorable days in the life of young musician Anushree Roy. Anushree of Gangachara Upazila of Rangpur, who won first place in country music at the National Primary Education Award-2026, met Prime Minister Tarique Rahman with her parents at the Bangladesh Secretariat today, Thursday (August 6, 2026). During this time, the Prime Minister inquired about her music practice, advised her to continue practicing regularly, and presented the harmonium she had requested in the letter as a gift.
During the meeting, Anushree performed a patriotic song for the Prime Minister. The Prime Minister praised her talent and urged her to continue practicing music with dedication in the future. Anushree and her family expressed deep joy and gratitude for the Prime Minister’s sincerity and enthusiasm.
It is known that Anushree had written a letter to the Prime Minister at the National Primary Education Medal-2026 presentation ceremony held at the Bangladesh-China Friendship Conference Center on July 15. In that letter, she mentioned the need for a harmonium for music practice and expressed her desire to meet the Prime Minister. Later, in response to that letter, the Prime Minister invited her and her family for a meeting.
After meeting the Prime Minister, Anushree said in an emotional response, “I never thought that the Prime Minister would read my letter and call me. It was not possible for our family to buy a harmonium. That is why I wrote the letter. When I called from the Prime Minister’s office to inform me that the Prime Minister had read my letter and wanted to meet, I could not believe it. Today, the Prime Minister not only met me, but also gifted me the harmonium of my dreams.”
She also said that the Prime Minister spoke to her affectionately, inquired about music practice and advised her to practice regularly in the future.
Anushree’s father said, “I never imagined that the Prime Minister would call and encourage my daughter. I always told her stories about the Prime Minister’s humanitarian activities. From there, she believed that writing a letter might get a response. Today, that belief has become a reality. Our joy cannot be expressed in words.”
He said that the Prime Minister’s encouragement will add new inspiration to Anushree’s musical practice and will make her more courageous in fulfilling her dream of becoming an established musician in the future.
Meanwhile, on the same day, Tabiul Islam Rakib, a security guard working in the Kuril-Bishwar Road area of the capital, met Prime Minister Tarique Rahman. After the meeting, he was emotional and expressed his gratitude to the Prime Minister as his long-standing wish had been fulfilled.
Rakib said that he has had deep respect and love for the Prime Minister and her family since childhood. He recently posted a video on social media expressing his desire to meet the Prime Minister. In it, he said that he would not leave Dhaka until he met the Prime Minister. He considers himself fortunate that his wish has finally been fulfilled.
During the meeting, Rakib also presented a long-standing public demand of his area to the Prime Minister. He mentioned the need to build a bridge over the Panguchi River in Morelganj Upazila of Bagerhat and said that if the bridge is built, the long-standing suffering of thousands of people will be alleviated and the risk of river crossing will also be reduced.
Rakib is currently working as a security guard in a private organization in the Kuril Bishwa Road area of the capital. His village is in Nurullahpur Shikdarbari area of Morelganj Upazila of Bagerhat district.
The concerned people are seeing this incident of two ordinary citizens fulfilling their dreams on the same day as a humanitarian and inspiring initiative. By encouraging the talent of a small musician and listening attentively to another ordinary security guard, Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has given a message of connecting with the common people and showing importance to their expectations.
