The 10-day ‘Taste of Arabia’ Food Festival has begun at the Seasonal Tastes restaurant of The Westin Dhaka in the capital to showcase the traditional cuisine of the Middle East. Diplomats, corporate representatives, media personnel and guests participated in the media meet and greet organized on Thursday to mark the festival.
The Egyptian Ambassador to Bangladesh, His Excellency Omar Mohi Eldin Ahmed Fahmy, was present as the chief guest at the event, and Rashed Al Mali Al Jabi, Director of the UAE Foreign Aid Department in Bangladesh, was present as the guest of honor.
Md. Ashraful Alam, Head of Retail Banking Alliance Department, BRAC Bank PLC, and Syed Md., Country Manager, Air Arabia Bangladesh were present as special guests. Mobin Rashid and renowned guest chef Mahmud Abdel Fattah from Egypt.
At this time, Unique Hotels and Resorts PLC CEO Md. Shakawath Hossain and The Westin Dhaka General Manager Gary Farstad officially inaugurated the festival with the guests.
At the end of the event, guests tasted various traditional and special dishes of the Arab world in a tasting session and expressed their opinions.
The organizers were informed that this special food festival can be enjoyed every night from July 30 to August 8. The price per person has been set at Tk 9,450 (net).

This year, guests will be treated to authentic Arabian cuisine, including exclusive dishes featuring specially prepared camel meat, prepared under the supervision of renowned Egyptian chef Mahmoud Abdel Fattah. The internationally renowned chef is working with Westin’s experienced culinary team to present traditional Middle Eastern flavors in a modern presentation.
