US-Bangla Airlines has announced that it will add 21 new aircraft to its fleet by investing about $1.5 billion. The airline officially announced this at a ceremony organized at Sheraton Dhaka in Banani, the capital, on Wednesday (July 29, 2026).
State Minister for Civil Aviation and Tourism M Rashiduzzaman Millat was present as the chief guest at the ceremony. He termed such a large investment by the private sector in the development of the country’s civil aviation sector as a timely and positive initiative.
Advisor to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Humayun Kabir, Whip of the National Assembly Mia Md. Nuruddin Apu and US Ambassador to Bangladesh Brent T. Christensen were present as special guests at the ceremony.
Also present at the event were Paul Righi, senior officials of the Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (CAAB), diplomats from various countries, leaders of the travel and tourism sector, and representatives of various media outlets.
