Prime Minister Tarique Rahman orders coordinated efforts to improve the quality of education

Prime Minister Tarique Rahman visited the Ministry of Education for the first time after assuming office. During his visit to the Ministry of Education at the Bangladesh Secretariat on Tuesday (July 28, 2026), he reviewed the overall activities of the ministry and exchanged views with senior officials, heads of various departments and organizations, and experienced education officers working at the field level.

A detailed presentation was given at the review meeting on the ongoing activities of the Ministry of Education, various development projects, progress in the implementation of education policies, and administrative effectiveness. The Prime Minister reviewed these activities and provided necessary directions to the concerned officers.

In the meeting, the issues of improving the quality of education, ensuring regular classroom attendance of students, effective teaching, timely and continuous training of teachers, expansion of technology-based education, and further strengthening administrative accountability received special importance.

During this time, the Prime Minister directly exchanged views with experienced education officers working at the field level. The officials shared their experiences and views on the real picture of the education sector, existing challenges and what needs to be done to improve the quality of education. The Prime Minister listened to their statements attentively and emphasized on giving due importance to field-level experience and suggestions in policy-making and implementation.

The Prime Minister said, “Ensuring quality education for every student in the country is one of the government’s priorities. To this end, coordinated initiatives, effective supervision and timely implementation of plans will continue to bring about qualitative changes at every level of the education system.”

After the visit, the Prime Minister called on the officials and employees of the Ministry of Education to work with dedication, professionalism and a public service mentality. At the same time, she gave necessary instructions for the overall development of the education system and increasing the quality of services.
