People’s support is our biggest strength: Prime Minister Tarique Rahman at a dinner for political leaders

Desk Report:

Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has called on the country’s prominent political leaders to remain united, saying, “We were together in the past, are together and will remain together. There is no reason to leave you. So let us all work together to fulfill the expectations of the people in the future.”

The Prime Minister said these things in his speech before exchanging greetings and a dinner with the country’s prominent political leaders at the State Guest House Jamuna on Monday (July 20, 2026) evening.

He said that everyone will have to work with patience and restraint to fulfill the expectations of the people. Addressing the alliance leaders, he said, “As a younger brother, I will tell you that we all have to be patient. Because the people have a lot of expectations from us. Let us all work together to find out the areas of people’s expectations first and try to fulfill them. While doing this, we may have disagreements at some points, but there is no division between us. There is no room for misunderstanding.”

The Prime Minister said that the biggest strength of the country is the people and the people’s support for the parties involved in the simultaneous movement is their main strength. She said, “The people’s support is with all the parties involved in the simultaneous movement, including the BNP. Therefore, our strength and strength will remain as long as the people’s support is with us. By the grace of Allah, that support is with us. Therefore, if there is no division among us, then in the light of the 31-point or July Charter, we will all be able to move the country forward, InshaAllah.”

After the speech, an exchange of greetings was held. Later, the Prime Minister participated in a dinner with political leaders.

BNP Secretary General and Local Government Minister Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir delivered the welcome speech at the event. The event began with the recitation of the Holy Quran. The recitation was done by Shaukat Amin of the Islamic Unity Alliance.

BNP Standing Committee Member Dr. Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain, Gayeshwar Chandra Roy, Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury, Salah Uddin Ahmed, Begum Selima Rahman, Iqbal Hasan Mahmud Tuku, BNP Vice Chairman Abdul Awal Mintu, Barkat Ullah Bulu, Mohammad Shahjahan and other top leaders of BNP and various parties involved in the simultaneous movement were present.
