Prime Minister Tarique Rahman returns home after six-day first official foreign visit to China and Malaysia

Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has returned home after six-day first official foreign visit at the invitation of the Prime Ministers of China and Malaysia.

The plane carrying the Prime Minister and her entourage landed at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka at 7:45 pm Bangladesh time on Friday (June 26, 2026). The Prime Minister’s Deputy Press Secretary Zahidul Islam Rony confirmed this information.

Earlier, the Prime Minister left for Dhaka on a China Southern Airlines flight at 5:16 pm local time in Beijing, the Chinese capital. At that time, she was accompanied by her wife Dr. Zubaida Rahman. The entourage also returned home on the same flight.

Several members of the government’s cabinet, advisors, members of parliament and senior government officials welcomed the Prime Minister at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport.

At that time, senior leaders of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) were also present at the airport to welcome the party chief.
