Argentine Ambassador to Bangladesh Marcelo Carlos Sessa met BGMEA Administrator and Export Promotion Bureau (EPB) Vice-Chairman Anwar Hossain at the EPB office in Dhaka on December 2.

During the meeting, they discussed exploring potential areas of trade and investment between Bangladesh and Argentina and ways to enhance cooperation between the two countries.

During the discussions, they emphasized the immense potential for increasing bilateral trade and investment by strengthening partnerships.

They emphasized the need to increase communication and build strong relationships between the business communities of both countries to fully exploit the potential of trade opportunities.

Ambassador Marcelo Sessa and BGMEA Administrator Anwar Hossain emphasized the need to organize road shows and single country fairs to facilitate direct communication between Bangladesh and Argentine businesspeople.

They said that through these initiatives, both countries will get a platform to showcase their strengths and capabilities, where businessmen will have the opportunity to explore new trade and investment opportunities.

Ambassador Anwar Hossain informed Sesa about Bangladesh’s continued emphasis on product diversification in the ready-made garments sector, especially the industry’s efforts to move into the high-value garment segment using man-made fibers.

He sought the Ambassador’s cooperation in increasing garment exports to Argentina.

Administrator Anwar Hossain informed the Ambassador about Bangladesh’s interest in importing cotton from Argentina and said that such a partnership would bring mutual benefits to both countries. This cooperation can create a win-win situation for both countries, which can contribute to the economic growth of both countries.

The BGMEA Administrator sought the Ambassador’s assistance in facilitating the visa process for Bangladeshi businessmen to travel to Argentina, saying that this would help increase business contacts between the two countries.
