Government has worked to make the poorest self-reliant: State Minister for Land and Hill Tracts

Desk Report:

State Minister for Land and Hill Tracts, Mir Mohammad Helal Uddin, said that the government is working sincerely to make the poorest self-reliant. However, everyone has to come forward to make this government’s wish and efforts successful. You too have to make every effort to live a little better, for a better life. Only then will we be able to build a prosperous Bangladesh together.

The minister said this to the beneficiaries in his speech as the chief guest at the free VGF rice distribution program among the extremely poor, helpless and distressed families organized by the Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief on the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha 2026 at the premises of Chikandandi Union Parishad No. 12, Hathazari on Friday (May 22, 2026).

The State Minister distributed goats as alternative employment among the families of the registered fishermen community along the Halda coast. He then inaugurated the modern street lighting of Banjoin-Upazila-College Road-Bus Stand-Eleven Mile and Parvati Model Government High School-Kachari Road-Ramkuni Road under the ‘Smart Street Lighting Development’ project implemented by Hathazari Municipality under the LGCRRP World Bank project.

Later, the State Minister also inaugurated the Kamal Para Ramkuni Road and Shahjalal Para Carpeting Development projects of Hathazari Municipality.
