As part of the government’s ongoing election pledge to protect the environment and strengthen climate resilience, the countrywide dredging and re-excavation of rivers, canals, canals and reservoirs continues. In continuation of this, the re-excavation of Dariyarpur Dhara Canal (Bailor Canal) in Trishal Upazila of Mymensingh was formally inaugurated today (May 23, 2026).
Tarique Rahman inaugurated the program as the chief guest. After the inauguration, the Prime Minister planted a commemorative tree on the bank of the canal. Later, he addressed a gathering organized there as the chief guest.
